This allegedly leaked image shows Apple's A5 processor—the brains of the iPad 2—firmly inserted into the next-generation iPhone electronic guts. While we suspected this was going to be the case, this would be the first visual confirmation.
If it's a photo of the real thing, that is. You can also see a new higher-capacity battery pack next to it, which could mean a sightly longer battery life
As i had blogged earlier Singapore Air was taking off its A380 from the SIN-MEL route and replacing it with a Boeing 747-400, and from today’s announcement it seems the A380 will go to the SIN-FRA-JFK which was previously serviced using a Boeing 747-400.
This aircraft swap will result in a 25%capacity increase on the SIN-FRA-JFK route and the cabin product will be far superior than the dated Boeing 747 product and is the best in its class. This is a good news for Kris Flyer members as it will result in increased award redemption availability for them whereas on the flip-side other Star Alliance carriers will not be in such luck given the fact that Singapore Air is notorious for blocking First and Business class redemptions on the A380 product for them.
Overall its a well planned move by Singapore Air as the route is much more lucrative for them than the SIN-MEL route and also in order to command premium fares on this route, the product overhaul was long due. Overall it will definitely enhance the experience for the passengers on this long haul flight and can definitely termed as better value for money compared to the older product tha’ts currently in use.
The A380 begins its operation on this SIN-FRA-JFK route from January 15, 2012 onward. So hurry and start redeeming ASAP before the availability runs out.
A yet unannounced Motorola tablet has surfaced and it looks much thinner than the company’s existing Motorola XOOM. The picture, obtained by Thisismynext, shows that the upcoming Motorola tablet features the familiar from the Motorola Photon 4G diamond-shaped body. Of course, it’s running Android Honeycomb - you wouldn’t expect something else from the Google-acquired Motorola, would you?
Picking up our magnifying glass, we could see it actually running the stock camera app in Honeycomb, and it’s also said to come with a Motorola logo on the upper left side when put in portrait mode, while it connects to other devices via micro-USB and micro-HDMI ports. There’s nothing definite we could say about this tablet, but it looks comparatively small, when put aside the pen and our bets are for this to be the “fun and portable” 7-incher Sanjay Jha spoke about back in March.

To Bristle with Pleasure

“Growing old offers as many pleasures as punishments.” So says the optimist. As I approach my fourth decade, the low water mark for ‘maturity’, I have experienced few of these famous ‘pleasures’; the supposed glory of an early bed, the wondrous quiet of an evening in. The trappings of the slow descent to the grave are perplexing to me; I have been unable to relinquish the defiance of youth and the splendid extremes of love and hatred that burn in the young.
My mother once promised me that I would grow to love my hair at a time at which I loathed it; a sweaty mass of untamed curly frizz that caused me to scowl each time I gazed upon the crowning wreck in the mirror. Mother’s wisdom was true enough. As a man ages he feels fortunate to have hair left at all. Its quality is never something that instigates jealousy or despair; to keep your head of it, whilst all about you are losing theirs (to paraphrase Kipling), is one of the few significant genetic social challenges affecting so large a number of men today.
Taming it is another matter. I had never considered a bristle brush for my hair until about a year ago. I had always been able to wake up, comb through the knotted parts and twist in whatever goop L’Oreal were marketing as the ‘best performing’ wax or gel on the market. This seemed to work primarily because I, in my shocking vanity, refused to look at pictures of myself between the ages of 18 and 23; however dreadful my hair actually appeared after exposure to the elements, not as I last left it in the bathroom mirror, I have never known. However, this approach has ceased to be an effective remedy for the wildness of my remaining locks.
My hair is certainly thinner than it was in my early twenties and because of this the curls are thinner, wispier and less easily tamed. A day of wind and my appearance veers from the passably respectable into realms of extreme inelegance; there is nothing so repulsively incongruous as a tailored suit with the head of Caliban. The joy of brushing hair was alien to me. I still looked to my fingers to reshape and smarten the forest. However, the futility of this gradually dawned upon me. I eventually conceded that the days of careless coiffure were over; I needed grown up tools for my hair.
One of the benefits of a bristle brush is that hair of all types can be parted, shaped and styled to produce respectably presentable results. Thin, thick, curly, straight – the brush acts as an artisan’s device, making sense and order of mess. Nowadays, the bristle brush, and the pomaded refinement, are less favoured; acceptance of ‘bed hair’, shorter styles, the preponderance of gel-spiking and a return to the romance of a bushy hairdo have all taken their toll on goods that seek to control. The old, heavily lacquered hair fashion is particularly repellent to women. As one commentator put it; “Greased down hair! Yuck. One fashion I’m glad died in the 50’s.”
However, despite the unlikely renaissance of this particular trend, it has always been preferential for gentlemen as they age to do so with dignity and style. Whilst hair need not be oil-slicked into lifelessness, a bristle brush can bring dignity to styles that, whilst once charming, no longer appeal as they once did. To do so is to acknowledge maturity; and in that, as in brushing, there is a small amount of pleasure.

"Fans at the race said it appeared that Leeward tried to steer the plane away from the stands where spectators were sitting," the Los Angeles Times reports.
The Times also reports that "as the nose came down at a steep angle — 70 or 80 degrees, [witness Gerald DeRego] said — the plane rotated a bit, enough to likely spare a number of onlookers.
Witness Art O'Connor, a private pilot, "said he believes ... Leeward tried to avoid hitting the grandstands," The Reno Gazette-Journal adds.
"You could see the guy peeling off toward the stands," O'Connor told the newspaper. "Then he goes straight up over the stands. We were so close it looked like a blob from underneath. He got up to the top, peeled over and came straight down. He hit in front of the box seats."
ABC News, though, reports that "consultant and former pilot Steve Ganyard said that he is concerned that Leeward was not conscious during the crash." He's looked at video and photos and can't see Leeward's head in the cockpit, which Ganyard says "tells me that he was likely unconscious, slumped over the controls."

5 Korean, 12 Filipino mountaineers arrested in Mt. Banahaw

An environment official and policemen arrested five South Koreans and 12 Filipino mountaineers inside the prohibited areas of Mount Banahaw in Dolores, Quezon, on Sunday.
Salud Pangan, park superintendent for Banahaw, identified the foreigners as Hak Su Kim, Eob Kyo Lee, Yanug Su Kim, Nak Si Ji and Chang Yong Lee, all of Barangay (village) Iruhin in Tagaytay City. They were members of one of two mountaineer groups found in an area which was still closed to outsiders, she said.
“They claimed that they were not aware that Banahaw is still closed (to the public). But it is impossible for any mountaineer not to know that,” Pangan said by phone.
The Filipino mountaineers with the Koreans were identified as Jeffrey del Rosario, Dave Dela Cruz, Bryan Maglalang, Roderick Perez, Aries Ilocario and John Paul Dulan.
Pangan said she received information on Friday that two groups of mountaineers, including some foreigners, would sneak into the mountain.
“I immediately alerted our forest guards to monitor the entrances, but the trespassers eluded my men when they sneaked very early (morning) and under cover of darkness,” Pangan said.
Police said the first group was composed of five Koreans and six Filipinos, while the second had 17 Filipinos from Metro Manila.
The 17 were identified as Wilson Labrador, Jonorie Boticario, Jaybee Laurel, Feil Gulane, Feves Estacion, Mark Arnold, Vilson Gahoy, Anne Estipona, Ronald Tugade, Dana Alarcon, Jan Ann, Rommel Anthony Britana, Michael Joseph Abalos, Jedeah Mariz Claro, Serlina Surian, Dennis Pensotes and Alfred Lazona.
The climbers were brought to the Dolores police station and were expected to be transferred to Lucena City on Monday. They will be charged with violating Republic Act No. 9847 or the Mounts Banahaw-San Cristobal Protected Landscape (MBSCPL) Act of 2009.
The offense is punishable by a fine of P5,000 to P500,000 or imprisonment of one to six years or both.
Pangan warned mountaineers and religious devotees that they would be arrested if they entered the prohibited mountain spots. They could only go as far as areas identified by billboard signs, she said.
In February, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) stopped pilgrims and mountaineers from sneaking into the closed areas through the backdoor being offered by several resorts at the foot of Banahaw.
In 2004, the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) started a a five-year program to resurrect the mountain’s resources which were damaged by slash-and-burn farmers and visitors who littered the place with trash.
With barbed wires, the PAMB sealed off several trails leading to certain areas in the bosom of Banahaw.

John Travolta's vintage sports car got stolen right out from under his nose yesterday in Santa Monica ... TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell us Travolta had parked his 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL on the street -- just a couple blocks from a Jaguar dealer.
We're told John was only in the dealership for about 10 minutes -- and when he returned ... his whip had vanished.
John went back to the Jag dealer and waited for police to show up to take a report. We're told there are no witnesses ... at this point.
By the way ... that Benz can sell for as much as $100,000.
Travolta's rep hasn't gotten back to us yet.
The next iPhone will be out soon, and Samsung's legal team is going to be nice and ready for it: the company's told the Korea Times that it's already working on a national sales ban. Somehow I doubt Apple's worried.
If a Korean court granted Samsung the injunction, it'd be an unprecedented victory in the tedious patent slap fight between the two companies (during which only Apple has landed a few slaps). Once again, Samsung claims the iPhone 5 will step on its own patents. Will it prevail? Probably not. The company's been unable to prove its case before judges around the world, and given the likelihood that the 5 will be largely similar to its predecessor, their luck isn't likely to improve. This sounds more like chest-thumping than legal prowess.
